Nick's Testimony

Unbelievably powerful testimony of Nick Vujicic, a man spreading the word and the love of the Gospel! After seeing this, I feel I have no right to complain about my everyday problems, but I know that there is hope and that God is always with me.

Mad Libs Rock!

I just stumbled upon this website and I have to say I love it! It's a Mad Libs World has a wide variety of fun and free Mad Libs to choose from. As a child I remember doing these in school and it really helped me learn nouns, adverbs, adjectives, and so on. I always got a great laugh out of the strange story concoctions we came up with. Nothing has changed in 40 years of Mad Libs...that's right Mad Libs is celebrating it's 40th anniversary!
This is just one of the examples of a Mad Lib I did on It's a Mad Libs World. My words are in purple.

Advice To Prospective Parents
By: Roger Price & Leonard Stern

Congratulations to all of you smelly mothers and purple fathers. You are about to give birth to a/an cow. Remember, a happy child comes from a happy hat. The arrival of your Dad will cause many breezy changes in your life. You'll probably have to get up at four a.m. to give the little cape its bottle of crazy milk and change his or her Moms. Later, when he or she is 12 years old and able to walk, you'll hear the patter of little jackets around the house. And in no time, your child will be talking slowly, and calling you his or her "door," and saying things like, "Great Googly Moogly!!" right to your face. It's no wonder they are called little bundles of house.

If you remember Mad Libs and want to get your kids hooked, I suggest you visit this site with them :)

Product Review- Grippies: The "No-Slip" Solution for just about ANYTHING!

I recently found out about a new product (new to me anyway) called Grippies. They are the neatest little things and can really help protect your little ones. Grippies are the "no-slip" solution for socks, tights, gloves, and just about anything you can imagine. I was very excited when they came in the mail. Unfortunately sickness has been running rampant in our house since before Easter so I had to put off testing them out. Now that we're all better I decided to try these.
You can buy Grippies in stick-on form or iron-on form. I tried both! They were so easy to apply, especially the stick-on's...even my kids got to apply those to their socks and they loved the fact that they could help. I of course applied the iron-on Grippies. They work really well. My kids can run through the house without worrying about slipping on the kitchen or hallway floor. Who am I kidding, they never worry about slipping, I do! I can report we didn't have any slips, just clumsy falls not caused by the Grippies :)

I also got to test out the idea that these things will prevent just about anything you can think of from slipping. I put two of the stick-on Grippies on the back of my cellphone and placed my cellphone on top of my car console. The phone never moved! I'm sure if I had taken a really hard bump it would have, but luckily I avoided potholes that day. I think the owners of Grippies should advertise this as part of their use, they'd have a whole new market!

Overall I really like this product, Grippies are a great, efficient, and cost worthy product that I would recommend to all my mom, dad, and cell phone using friends.
How would you like a discount on these cool Grippies? Well, here you go, compliments of Corrie Wilder and Yelena Mogelefsky of http://www.grippiesonline.com , receive 10% off when you purchase two or more sheets of GRiPPiES (in any combination of stick-ons and iron-ons). Just use coupon code BRODIE10 at checkout!

My baby boy is no more...

My baby boy is now a BIG boy and I just got rid of a major part of his baby boy life.
I sold his toddler car bed and crib mattress!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=360018236978
I didn't feel this way when he transitioned from the crib to his other toddler bed, or from his toddler bed to this car bed. I got sentimental today when we hauled this thing out to the trailer to meet the winning bidder. It looked so small next to my son. He climb up on it for the last time and laid down. His feet hung over one end and his head touch the other end.
So now he's in a FULL size (or double) bed and it will be his last bed until he's moved out and on with his grown up life. It's sad how fast the days go by...I just want my 12 pound Hulk back in his crib!

I LOVE my new eBay Store Design!

Cool Kid Stuff - Helpful Too!

You've heard of the Plumber Butt and Saggy Rear Syndrome right?

You haven't?!!

Your kids must be the perfect size for whatever age they are....mine are NOT! That is why I decided to do a little research online. I got so tired of pulling my two kids pants up all the time. We had belts (well my son did anyway) but those belts were such a pain to use...especially when potty training :( In my research I found these really cool belts made by Quickbelts (formerly known as Beltkro). I love these belts....my kids love these belts, and most importantly my sanity loves these belts!

They are super cool, you just put them through the belt loops, slide one end through the other and then velcro them closed. My 4 yr old and my 2 yr old can do this all by themselves....great for independence AND self esteem.

Ebay Coach Free Forum

I just have to tell you all about a forum that I found. It is the ebay Coach Forum and it is free. There is a logo to the right. Just click on that and it is easy to register. The people are great and very helpful. There are people from all walks of life. Suzanne Wells, the Ebay Coach, started the forum. She is inspiring to listen to and to read about. She took a tough situation and turned it around into a thriving Ebay business. She is a single mom raising 2 kids. Ebay is how she pays the bills. She is the first to admit she made a lot of mistakes. But her hope is to help others out so they do not have to make the same mistakes. So take 5 minutes and go check it out. I promise you will find something helpful over there. I highly recommend it. And one more thing. There are several forums that are very specific about what they talk about. For example there are Boden forums and Gymboree Forums. This forum is for anyone and everything Ebay. So even if you start selling and want to change your direction to something completely different, you will still find it useful. They are also considering making a section for sellers who have excess inventory and beginners or others who are wanting inventory. It is just a way to solve two problems, having too much to list or not being able to get your hands on great inventory. Take a look, it couldn't hurt.

Product Review- Accessories 4 Divas & Beaus Essential Oils

I recently tried 3 body fragrance oils from a place called Accessories 4 Divas & Beaus

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! I am a picky person when it comes to smells. I usually get a headache or a rash where ever I apply scents and perfumes. Then comes the sneezing and watery eyes. I had NO problems wearing these oils and they smelled fabulous! I am pretty sure I can attribute that to the fact that they are 100% pure oils formulated using the finest skin safe ingredients. They contain NO WATER, NO ALCOHOL, & ABSOLUTELY NO FILLERS.

The first scent was Tropical Punch. It had a sweet and citrusy but also a spicy kind of smell. It's hard to describe, but I do know that I loved it. I have to say this is probably my favorite one, and my hubby's too!

The second scent I wore was called LACOSTE FEMME Type. Another yummy scent...maybe I should say a clean, fresh scent. It smelled like clean linens or cotton. It was very fresh and the scent seemed to last all day. I got a few comments on it at my PT night job!

Last but not least was DREAM ANGEL HEAVENLY Type. This scent was my least favorite. I just don't like scents that are too musky or spice smelling. I go for more clean and citrusy scents, but that is just MY preference! It wasn't at all a bad smell, as a matter of fact I received great feedback and comments on it from my hubby and my co worker. My co worker mentioned it smelled familiar and that she really liked it. I guess she'll just have to buy some, right?!

I would definitely highly reccomend Accessories 4 Divas and Beaus for the best smelling, long lasting body fragrance oils!

I can do it!!!

Ohh the things kids say and do!!

This morning I am checking my emails and all of a sudden I hear a VERY excited cry of "I can do it, I can do it!!!" coming from the stairs. It's my daughter Brodie Mae. I didn't know what all the fuss was about so I asked her "What can you do?" She immediately responds with "Nuffin'"

LOL!!! It took all I had not to fall in the floor from laughing so hard. She's 2, so I should have seen that coming right??!!

Kid's are the coolest ;)

Jewelry Sets - Jewelry Just for Her~ Handcrafted Beaded Jewelry for Kids

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Isn't this the cutest set of jewelry ever??!! Ok for a 2 year old it's the cutest ever, right?
I just placed the order for this through Ronda at http://www.jewelryjustforher.com and I mentioned that my daughter is really tiny. Ronda immediately emailed me back and said she could customize the bracelet to fit if I wanted. YES, I gave her Brodie's measurement and she's working on it! I can't wait to get this in the mail :)

Thank you Ronda!

Product Reviews for Moms

I've been thinking of adding product reviews to the blog. The reviews would be done as I get the products, and would blend in with my other blog posts. I of course wouldn't charge anything to do the reviews (if you send me a product, I would be crazy to charge you!) and i'd place your banner or link in the review for others to check it out. So to everyone reading this, do you think it's something I should offer?
I know how hard it can be to work from home and get the word out about your website or product, and this would be a GREAT low cost way for other moms to do that. It would also be a great way for other moms to see and hear how those products work before purchasing them.
Well, it's a thought...what do you think?

Woe is me!!

Ughhhh, the past 2 days have not been so good. I hurt my foot somehow and i'm hobbling around as best I can. The kid's know I am hurting, but they use this to their advantage. Yes, they seem to think that if i'm in pain and can't chase after them, they can go hog wild!! I've got news for them, as soon as i'm better it's payback! LOL
So i'm sitting here, working on the website, checking emails and praying the pain goes away. I did get a little giggle this morning. A lady in one of my groups sent this email. It's too cute not to pass along.

KIDS IN CHURCH

3-year-old Reese:"Our Father, Who does art in heaven, Harold is His name.Amen."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~
A little boy was overheard praying:"Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it. I'm having a real good time like I am."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
After the christening of his baby brother in church, Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong. Finally, the boy replied,"That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
One particular four-year-old prayed, "And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?" One bright little girl replied,"Because people are sleeping."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3 The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.' Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~
A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore where a seagull lay dead in the sand."Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked. "He died and went to Heaven," the Dad replied.
The boy thought a moment and then said, "Did God throw him back down?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
A wife invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?". "I wouldn't know what to say," the girl replied. "Just say what you hear Mommy say," the wife answered. The daughter bowed her head and said, "Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
And if you don't send this to at least 8 people ----- who cares?! Peace, love and happiness!!

I needed a giggle today...this did the trick :)

Who am I and what do I like?

Yes, I know that if you are looking at my blog, you most likely have read my profile. I just wanted to go into a little detail here...hope you don't mind! :)

I have 2 children who are my life. Brodie Mae is 2 now and Aiden is 4. I'd do anything for them (ok, within reason) and they are the reason I wanted to be a stay at home mom. I also have other "loves". I have a really great man, his name is Don. He has always been there for me and he puts up with a lot of my "creative ideas". He's a great supporter and we love him lots!

I also have my own website selling gifts for all occasions. It's called Brodie Girl Boutique. I just love anything personalized or unique and so that is why I chose this niche as a business. With all the routine things we parent's go through on a daily basis, it's nice to have something different and personal.

I also love photography, and someday I will have my dream camera!! Here's a shot of a sunflower we grew in our backyard.

I also love to cook, which inspired me to start my own small garden this year. I had tomatoes, sweet basil, cilantro, watermelon, and oregano. I did say it was a small garden! The cilantro and tomatoes were great for making my homemade salsa. Mmmmmm, love salsa and chips!

We have 2 dogs. They are Boxers. Laila Ali is a white female, and she is deaf. Jigsaw, AKA Jiggy, is a Brindle male. They are very sweet dogs and they love the kids! Any other Boxer lovers out there?

Well, I think that about covers it! Me in a nutshell ;) Any questions? Feel free to comment!

About me, Jess

I know this is a little strange for my 1st post, but I feel like this hit the nail on the head. It's a personality test called Visual DNA. Scary how accurate it is!
